It's not fandom...it's called butthurt. Allen has been nasty. As a casual fan of both teams, I would say you guys are winning bc Allen > Dubnyk. Hope the Blues continue to make some noise...good luck |

Wild can have the narrative, I'll take the four wins and the sooner the better. I'd hate to have to see the Blues have to make the trip back to St. Paul and give the Wild any reason to have hope. - bcallaway
Agreed. End it tonight. Get the rest. Get the confidence. Etc. Save the legs and injuries. |

I'll also add to the argument something that has been stated before, but the Blues are playing to protect the lead after they get it. They have led by one goal for most of this series and I think that has a lot to do with the so called "dominance" the Wild have shown. This really does feel like the many Blues v Kings series and Blues v Blackhawks series where we lost because couldn't score goals even though we controlled most of the play.
I think it's both our experience from making it to the conf final and Yeo's coaching style of pushing shots to the outside that is making the difference this time. |

Woulda, coulda, shoulda...who cares how you got to 3-0. All that matters is that you are up 3-0 and are looking like the strongest team in the west. |

Hopefully the focus hasn't been on playing to protect the lead, that plan doesn't usually work. I haven't really noticed any difference in play style when tied or with the lead. I suspect they would play the same if they were down a goal too (until crunch time at least).
Either way, the team has done a good job at limiting quality chances and getting the puck out of our end. Now they need establish more o-zone time. |

Good blog Jason but what's with the whole Rodney Dangerfield "No Respect" angle? Who cares if your team is being called lucky or not the better team or whatever. You're up 3 games to none in a Stanley cup playoff series.
Guess I don't see why Blues fans feel the need to defend a 3 - 0 lead in the series?
Whatever, it's fun to see Blues fans get all upset over it(mostly just Anthill) so at least I'm having fun in that manner, even though my favorite team is likely going to get bumped in the first round.
Hope they can at least make it a series though. If the Wild can some how come out on top tonight all bets are off. |

I'm always looking at and playing angles (I'm a goalie lol). In all seriousness, I like looking at low, mid and high danger chances for and against. The stats in game 1 surprised me as i thought they would have been more skewed to the Wild based on my eyes (watching the game). I didn't go back and look at it until monday night and i was surprised and had me wondering more about the merits of yeo's apparent strategy.
I'd rather the team feel like Dangerfiled. I think teams naturally respond better when they have a common enemy beyond the team they are playing against (see Herb Brooks, see everyone calling them the underdog, etc). Perhaps it bonds them more, perhaps it makes them not afraid to lose and thus play better or some other thing.
As to the regional, bigger fan base feeling the need to defend their team: I can't explain it well in words but if you lived here for any time you probably aren't surprised by it. Just my 2 cents on that but my wife who isn't from here would agree. It's a generalization but it's seems to be a personality thing of the people here. Maybe it has to do with pride (in a good way about earning what they have). Maybe it has to do with pride (just defending their own - goes along with the where did you go to high school question, supporting former players, almost never booing their players - see tino martinez situation a number of years ago as an example, etc). Maybe it is something else. |

Lol. Because a single post saying something is hilarious is getting all upset? You're admitting you're just being a troll, and not realizing you're doing a terribe job lol. |

Good insight there. I also like that you didn't fix that "mistake".
Just curious, what are Crawford's numbers so far? He hasn't looked bad to my eye, just a piss poor effort from the guys in front. He looked like Charlie Brown by the end of game 2. |

Meh, Blues deserved to win tonight; but Wild deserved game 1; so series is where it should be. Expect Blues to come out a little stronger, play all three periods like they did the last 2 next game. |
